The Wych Elm, Ulmus glabra cultivar 'Gittisham' was cloned from an old tree found in the village of Gittisham, Devon.

Indistinguishable from the species.
'Gittisham' is reputed to have a comparatively high resistance to Dutch elm disease and is currently being cultivated for disease-resistance testing by inoculation by the French quango Cemagref at Le pépiniére de l'etat, Guémené-Penfao. Results should be available by 2010.
The tree has been raised for sale by a nursery in Devon since circa 1998.
